This privacy policy explains how Found It Golf (“Found It Golf,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Found It Golf website at figolf.com, our stickers and codes, and our related services, including email and text message (SMS) notifications (together, the “Service”).

Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Account information, such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, and password.
- Information about your items, such as descriptions, photos, and serial numbers you choose to add.
- Your sharing and notification choices, including whether you have agreed to receive text messages.
- Found item reports, such as the finder’s message, the finder’s contact details if the finder chooses to provide them, and the location where the item was found.
- Messages you send to us or through the Service, and support requests.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the website or scan a code, we collect basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages and codes you visit, and the date and time. We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure.
Payment information. If you make a purchase, your payment is processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
How we use information
- To operate the Service, including connecting found items with their owners and golf courses.
- To send the notifications you have chosen to receive, such as found item alerts by email or text message and recovery updates by email.
- To verify your email address and phone number and to send account and security notices.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To protect the Service and its users, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with the law.
- To understand how the Service is used and improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Text messages (SMS)
If you opt in to text messages, we use your mobile phone number to send two kinds of account notifications: a one-time code to confirm the mobile number you add, and alerts when someone reports finding one of your items. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us, or by turning off text messages in your account settings. For help, reply HELP or email [email protected]. See the text messaging section of our Terms of service for full program terms.
We keep a record of your text message consent, including when you opted in and when you opted out, so we can honor your choices. If you reply STOP, we keep a record of that so we do not text your number again unless you opt back in.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. The sharing described in the “How we share information” section below does not include text messaging originator opt-in data or consent.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How we share information
With owners, finders, and golf courses. To return an item, we share the information needed for the recovery with the people involved. For example, a finder’s report is shared with the item’s owner or the owner’s golf course. Owner contact details are shown to a finder only if the owner has chosen to share them.
With service providers. We use service providers that help us operate the Service, such as website hosting, email delivery, text message delivery, maps, and payment processing. They may use information only to provide their services to us. Our text message delivery provider receives your phone number and the content of each message only to deliver the messages you have asked to receive.
For legal reasons. We may share information when required by law, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of Found It Golf, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Found It Golf is involved in a sale, merger, or transfer of its business, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve recoveries, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Records of text message consent and opt-outs are kept as long as needed to honor your choices and to show that messages were sent with your consent.
Your choices
- You can update your account information, sharing choices, and notification preferences in your account.
- You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP or by changing your account settings.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may keep some information when the law requires it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Found It Golf accounts are for people 18 and older. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are material, we will give reasonable notice, such as by email or a notice on the Service.
